I had learnt the contours
From guiding scents
And leading wisps
Of the place you called home
Its pathways
Where you walked, and sat
Spinning thoughts,
Of the seat
That held the warmth
Of your being
From guiding scents
And leading wisps
Of the place you called home
Its pathways
Where you walked, and sat
Spinning thoughts,
Of the seat
That held the warmth
Of your being
Unseen memories gathered
For someday, maybe,
A moment stolen from time
When I would come
Trying to find you
With just your whispers
To guide me
No name, or a place…
But that was never anything
Between us,
These trappings of the world
We always followed
The rules
Of hearts and souls
And feelings
Rising from the lap of the earth
Until
You went away
Just went away......
Not a breath left there
To guide my way
To where you've been
How could you!
How could you gather your traces
From the air
That you promised would be my friend
Till the end?
Where is the fragrance of your eyes
Following my beats
Through poetries?
Where are you....just gone
From my mind’s sight
With nary a track to bring me
Home
You could have just asked me
And I would have returned
Every map
Every voice, every word
That could lead me to you
But at least
You could have left me
The memories.....
After all
Home was never a place, but a feeling
